About The Ridge Instruction Program
Teaching Philosophy
The first responsibility I have, as a teacher, is to understand and help the student reach his or her goals. It is my responsibility to create an atmosphere where the student is not intimidated and feels comfortable to ask questions. To initiate this process the first lesson will include an informal interview to inquire about the history of their game, physical limitations, past instruction, current goals, and the willingness and time available to commit to the changes. With this information I begin with evaluating fundamentals such as grip, alignment, and posture. All changes that are made will be based upon the needs of the student and applicable ball flight laws, not the concept of the picture perfect swing. As lessons continue the student will learn how the ball flight laws apply with the intent of the student diagnosing their own swing. As a committed teacher, I am open to adapting my teaching style to fit the student, not force the student to adapt their learning style to fit me.
Individual Lessons
Lessons can cover any aspect of the game. The student may determine to focus on putting, chipping, pitching, full swing, or any combination. Video/computer analysis is also available and may be utilized.
